Quickmat Sectional Matrix
By POLYDENTIA SA (6/12/2007)

Keyword simplicity: Quickmat, the ideal sectional matrix system for optimum, large area contact points

Though dentistry has made spectacular advances in the fields of material science, implantology and laser application in the past decades, the main focus in any dental practice will always be on conservative dentistry. Ultimately the aim is to restore form, function and aesthetics using techniques that are easy to apply. In contrast to other systems, the Quickmat sectional matrix system from Polydentia SA combines these high-quality features so that anatomically perfect approximal amalgam or composite fillings can be produced in the posterior region.

The Quickmat kit comprises 5 Quickrings, 200 contoured sectional matrices (0.04 mm thick), which are available in two different heights (5 mm and 6.4 mm), 10 silicone rings and 100 assorted interdental wooden wedges. These components can of course be ordered separately.

The contoured matrices adapt fully to the contact area of the adjacent tooth and, in conjunction with the wooden wedges, surround the cervical shoulder perfectly. This facilitates the creation of tight, anatomical contact points.

The Quickrings have excellent positional stability and are very easily fitted with rubber dam clamp forceps. The specially angled tines make it easy to place two rings on top of each other when restoring MOD cavities. The main advantage in comparison with other techniques is provided by the silicone rings, which can be placed over the Quickring tines: this enlarges the diameter and length of the tines, ensuring that the matrix is clamped as firmly as possible and increasing the stability of the Quickring. With larger approximal box extensions the silicone rings also prevent the tines penetrating too deeply into the interdental space and protect the papilla.

The Quickrings and silicone rings can be sterilized in an autoclave at 134°C.
Finally, in my opinion the Quickmat sectional matrix system is a reliable product that has fully met my high expectations, as it is very simple to use and produces perfect conservative restorations. I can therefore highly recommend the Quickmat sectional matrix system.
